Psychology writes History tour 2: High hopes and false promises- Dresden's long wait for freedom
The end of WW II and the Nazi era was followed by yet another totalitarian regime and a completely different way of life.
Revisit this period in a guided walk through Dresden’s city centre. Take a deeper look with me at the Third Reich era, the Hitler Myth, and then the repression during the Cold War period. Learn about the personal and civil courage and dissention that finally dissolved the Communist rule and led to the reunification of Germany in 1989.
Extension: Visit the former Stasi (State Security Police) Prison in Dresden as an extension of the above tour. This is where people were held, interrogated and imprisoned- a bleak reminder of the fact that oppressive regimes themselves sow the seeds of their own opposition.

Including Stasi Prison (including travel time from city centre to the museum)
