Combine the walking tour with a museum of your choice - either the newly restored Royal Palace with the Historical and New Green Vaults as well as other thematic collections, or to the Old Masters Picture Gallery in the Zwinger.
(1) The Royal Palace is an awe inspiring series of rooms- each a breathtaking spectacle on its own. It is not just a restored palace, but also a wonderfully curated museum—a journey into the heart of European heritage. The sumptuous newly restored and reconstructed State Rooms are a demonstration of sheer wealth and power, while the New Green Vault with its intricate art treasury is a goldsmiths delight. The collections of princely firearms has been one of the most important in Europe since the 18th Century. Armour, clothes, coins, jewelry, weapons, instruments, artifacts, etchings- ranging from the spectacular to the minute, this is a visit that will engage your rapt attention without overwhelming you. (2) Alternatively you can choose to visit the the Old Masters Picture Gallery where an immense collection consisting of paintings by Reubens, Rembrandt, Vermeer or Titain, amongst others, reside. As of 2019, the gallery now hosts the sculpture collection as well and has been curated with loving attention, juxtaposing sculpture with paintings to help the visitor understand how the two inspired each other. You will be led though the museum by a licensed guide. As far a possible, the same guide will do the walking as well as the museum tour, to enable continuity. Language: English
Duration: 3.5 hours Price: 250€ / group Please note: The Royal Palace closes on Tuesdays and The Painting Gallery on Mondays. Tickets cost approximately 16€ for an adult, visitors under 17 years are free. We can assist you in booking them.
